Divine Appointments

God has been moving here this week! We had many opportunities to go out into the town and talk to people. On Thursday, me and three other girls were going into town to see who we could talk to. We prayed first about where the Lord wanted to lead us. One girl felt like we should go to the main super market in town and another girl felt like God gave her a picture with the colors green and yellow. As we were walking towards the super market, we realized that the store and the flags surrounding it were green and yellow. At the store we started talking to the security guard there and asked him if we could pray for the store. He seemed confused and told us to wait. He came back with a younger guy, one of the managers, and we asked again. They were hesitant but agreed to let us pray. After praying, the security guard was asking us all kinds of questions about God and faith and the end of the world, etc. He said he believes in God but doesnt really pursue a relationship with Him. During this time the younger manager kept coming up in a teasing way yet he seemed so interested. We managed to ge into a conversation with him about why he lacks faith. He shared a bit about his past and why he doesnt believe in God anymore. We shared parts of our testimonies and just kept asking questions to get these guys thinking. The amazing thing was that out of the 4 of us girls, only me and one other spoke Spanish and neither of us speak it fluently. It was so amazing! God just gave us the words to speak. I was translating and remembering words in Spanish that I never would have recalled on my own. As I was reflecting back on this conversation, I was remembering how God spoke to me before outreach about Moses and how Moses doubted his ability to speak, but God said He would tell Moses what to say. God told me what to say, too. It was uncomfortable at first and I was hesitant to apporach these men to ask them if we could pray, but Im so glad we did! God is so good and He can use anyone, even me! I saw this encounter as a divine appointment that God set up for us. He guided us through it all. Its also exciting because this is the super market we go to often so Im sure we will see these guys again. Ive been praying that when we see them again, they will be reminded of our conversation and that they wont be able to stop thinking about God.

Another divine appointment happened that day. That Thursday morning, a group went out to pray for all of the shop owners. They met a man named Claudius who was working with his parents to reconstruct their hotel which was damaged by the earthquake last February. While they were praying, one of the girls felt like God wanted our team to bless Claudius. She asked him if he needed help with the hotel. He was very hesitant and insisted that we should want to spend our time in Pichilemu enjoying the beach. They explained that we werent here for vacation and that we wanted to bless him. The next day me and 4 others showed up at the hotel ready to work. He was shocked to see us and didnt have anything ready for us because he thought they were joking the day before. He really didnt think we would come to work. He felt embarrassed and was hesitant to accept our free labor. We ended up working there with him all morning, painting and cleaning. One of our guys got to talk with him about his faith and he ended up coming to the community meeting that night on the base! We might go back to help at the hotel next week. God is so good! Its amazing how he works and how all we need to do is take the initiative to start conversatioins with people and God does the rest.

Its only been 2 weeks and there are 8 more to go! Im excited for what God has in store. Although Im missing everyone at home, Im so thankful for this experience and I want to make the most of my time. Ive been praying a lot about whats next after DTS and although its not perfectly clear, God is speaking to me and stirring in my heart some ideas and is cultivating dreams within me. Gods plan and his timing is so perfect. Im so thankful He sent me to do a DTS to know Him more, know myself more, share Him with people, see other parts of the world, and to have time to discover how God wants to use me and my unique giftings during my time here on earth.
